Stewardship Straight Talk

It’s always a good time to support St. Stephen’s! Pledge cards are available at church and from the Parish Office and will be gratefully accepted any time. Thank you for your prayerful consideration of support in 2025.

Three cheers for this year’s stewardship speakers:
Jim Brennan, Bill Frazier, and Brendan Dillon-Harmon.

What exactly is pledging and in what ways does it benefit the parish vs. plate collections?

The primary goal of annual pledging is to support the church’s operations. This includes not only maintaining the building but also supporting all aspects of our mission and ministry—worship, pastoral care, programming, and outreach to those in need around us.

In addition, pledging is a way of letting the church know of our intent to give, and how much. This enables Nina and our lay leadership to build a realistic budget for the coming year – which is then shared with all members in advance of the Annual Meeting. Unlike many other organizations, we move forward based on the faith that people will give what they have pledged. Plate collections are always welcome, of course! But pledges allow us to plan better for the coming year.
