Nina’s Sabbatical Updates

Saturday, August 29

Mackenzie left on Tuesday morning, and Wednesday began the church part of my time here in Scotland. Here’s a pic as I headed out to attend my first service, Wednesday morning Eucharist at St Mary’s. That evening I attended a Taize Eucharist at St John’s.

Fridays are also busy days – with morning prayer at St John’s, and tea with a group of parishioners before we walked down the main road (Union Street) to St James’s for Bible study. Then I had a meeting with Dean Jenny Holden, where she gave me my Rota assignments for the next several weeks.

Hope all is well!!! Nina+

Pics from this weekend: diocesan service launching Creation Season was held at St Mary’s Pro Cathedral.

And this is Father Roger Dyer, whose retirement begins today. I’ll be trying to fill his shoes for the next four weeks. Not an easy task – because he’s been supporting so many ministries! I’ll be primarily serving at the two churches Roger has been supporting: St. John’s and St. James’s.

Did you notice the chairs in the one pic? They took out all the pews and put in tables at the back for their soup and chat on Saturdays, with chairs up front.
